HISTORY: This is a 25-year-old resident of Martinez, California who presents with gynecomastia. He is 5’6″ and 180 pounds and has had gynecomastia since about 12 years old. His condition first started with puffy nipples and then gradually enlarged. He took Gynexin, which is a non-prescription, anti-gynecomastia drug, which is heavily advertised with no results. His goal is to achieve a better chest physique. He underwent gland excision and suction assisted lipectomy. He had aspiration 150 cc of fat from each side followed by excision of 31 grams of tissue on his right and 33 grams of breast tissue from his left. His surgery was performed at Marin Cosmetic Surgery Center in Marin County, California. His photographs were taken 2 months after surgery.

HISTORY: This is a 25-year-old resident of Lompoc, California who presents to the San Francisco, California office for evaluation for his gynecomastia. He has had chest enlargement since approximately 25 years old. He had a weight gain to 250 pounds and dropped down to 200 pounds. He has had the breast enlargement for most of his life as far as he can remember. He does not take off his shirt in public due to feeling uncomfortable that women are looking at him. His goal is to be able to “feel better about my body”. He is 6’2″ and weighs 200 pounds. He underwent gland excision and suction assisted lipectomy of his chest and liposuction of the axilla or arm pit area. His surgery was performed at Marin Cosmetic Surgery Center in Marin County, California. We extracted 400 cc of fat from each side. Due to the laxity of his skin we made a superior incision for a breast lift. The amount of tissue excised was 67 grams from his right and 41 from his left side. His photographs are seen 3.5 months after surgery.

HISTORY: This is a 23-year-old resident of San Jose, California who presents to the San Francisco, California office for evaluation of gynecomastia. He has had male breast enlargement since an early age of 15 years old and therefore adolescent gynecomastia. He did take steroids in the past for body building, which accelerated his gynecomastia. He had two bouts of steroids. He does not take off his shirt due to embarrassment and his goal is to obtain a flat chest and to be comfortable without his shirt. He underwent breast gland excision and liposuction of his abdomen and flanks. He had approximately 225 cc of fat extracted from each chest, 38 grams of breast tissue was removed from his right breast and 34 grams of tissue removed from his left breast. His surgery was performed at Marin Cosmetic Surgery Center in Marin County, California. His postoperative photographs were taken 5 months after surgery.

HISTORY: This is a 21-year-old resident of Solvang, California who presents with gynecomastia. He presented at the San Francisco, California office for evaluation of his adolescent gynecomastia. . He is 6’2″, 220 pounds. He underwent gland excision and suction assisted lipectomy of his chest with 300 cc of fat aspirated from each side. He had 49 grams removed from his right and 54 from his left breast area. His surgery was performed at Marin Cosmetic Surgery Center in Marin County, California. His postoperative photographs were taken about two months after surgery.

HISTORY: This is a 16-year-old resident of Salida, California who presents to the San Francisco, California office for evaluation of his gynecomastia. He has had severe male breast enlargement for the past six years. He does not take off his shirt in public. He has tried to fit in socially but has been very afraid of rejection. His goal is to “have a normal chest”. He is 5’10”, 240 pounds. He underwent gland excision and chest liposuction. He had removal of 200 cc of fat from each side and 159 grams of breast tissue removed from his right side and 104 grams of tissue removed from his left side. His surgery was performed at Marin Cosmetic Surgery Center in Marin County, California. His photographs were taken 2 months after surgery. It was discussed that a secondary procedure will be helpful to tighten up the skin. He was happy with the outcome.
